Near the signatures, the contract must tell you that you may contact the Board for help understanding it, may ask for a payment and performance bond, may contact an attorney, and may ask for a contract in the language it was explained in. Any clause that waives your rights under the contractor law is void (NRS 624.970). (source: Nevada Legislature)

For jobs that are only repairs to existing work, plans, scale drawings and equipment lists are not required in the contract (NRS 624.970). (source: Nevada Legislature)

Repairs and replacements count

For residential contract rules, the Board interprets "repair" to include replacing or doing routine maintenance on mechanical equipment in a completed single-family home, such as heating and air-conditioning equipment, plumbing fixtures, chimneys, garage doors and garage door openers (NAC 624.013). Disclosures from general contractors

A general building contractor working on a single-family home must give the owner, in writing, the names and license numbers of all subcontractors and of suppliers of $500 or more, a notice that they may record a lien, and a Board informational form (NRS 624.600). (source: Nevada Legislature)
